EXPECTED OUTCOME

(Click on each item to see more information)

After completing the course "Sustainability and Systems Thinking - Leading to Thrive," you can expect to achieve the following outcomes:

Develop a solid foundational understanding of sustainability and systems thinking in a business context. You will also grasp the core principles and concepts that underpin sustainable business practices.
Foundational Understanding
Gain practical guidance on setting meaningful and achievable sustainability goals that align with your organization's objectives. You will be equipped to define clear and actionable sustainability targets.

• Embrace the first weakness of sustainable development, which is human beings: awareness -> transformation -> impact -> sustainability and transfer.
• Cascade sustainable leadership principles from top management to the entire department and community.
• Cultivate accurate, synchronized, and systematic awareness to transform perceptions into models, strategies, action plans, and continuous improvement.
• Address the numerous challenges encountered during the transformation process, including fluctuations due to a) strategies, measurements, and incentives primarily aligned with short-term business targets and results, b) the consensus and contributions of various stakeholders and the entire ecosystem, and c) resistance from certain factors.
• Strike a balance between long-term and short-term goals, persevering and refining relationships with organizations, individuals, markets, and oneself to effectively achieve long-term and short-term objectives, thereby achieving dual success.

Sustainability Goal Setting
Learn how to create a step-by-step sustainability roadmap tailored to your organization's specific needs. This roadmap will serve as a practical guide for implementing sustainability initiatives.

• Long-term Perspective:
- Developing visionary leadership.
- Crafting a comprehensive, inspiring, and clear overall strategy.
- Refining methodologies.
- Implementing continuous and consistent communication.
- Establishing a conducive environment and practical training for the successor team.
- Ensuring sustainable, long-term resources (20-30 years).
- Implementing systematic and scientific continuous evaluation and adjustment.
• Short-term Perspective:
- Timely recognition and appropriate support for timely and commendable contributions.
- Timely detection, prevention, transformation, and removal of negative factors: fairness, justice, transparency.
Sustainability Roadmap
Be introduced to the intelligence phase of sustainability, focusing on data collection and key performance indicators (KPIs). Learn how to assess and measure the impact of sustainability efforts on business performance and the broader ecosystem.

• Leaders should recognize that when embarking on new endeavors, including data-related ones, resources are often scarce.
• Building trust in oneself and the team is essential to facilitate open and honest discussions to find suitable solutions based on the existing data.
• Company core values should guide important decisions.
• A serious commitment to developing a roadmap for improving the decision-making process based on data over time is necessary.
• Some individuals may hold decision-making power within or outside the organization but lack a clear understanding of sustainability.
• Identifying and respecting differences, being discerning in discovering group benefits, and demonstrating flexibility through timely adjustments are critical.
• Preventing and promptly addressing actions that can undermine the team's efforts is crucial.

Data and Measurement
Acquire effective strategies for marketing and communicating sustainability initiatives to various stakeholders, including employees, customers, and investors. You will be able to convey the value and impact of sustainability efforts convincingly.
Effective Marketing and Communication
Understand the importance of building a corporate culture that embraces sustainability and fosters employee engagement. You will learn how to create a workplace where sustainability is embedded in the organizational DNA.
